Outlook 2007 registry settings

by admin on October 27, 2010

Microsoft  office outlook has lot of options which can be configured from Tools -> Options.
For Outlook 2007 these settings are stored in the registry database under the following node.

HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Office\12.0\Outlook\Preferences

Below we explain how to use these registry keys to configure different options in Outlook 2007.

When I minimize Outlook, it disappears from the taskbar(it does not show any icon in the taskbar). How do I make it show up in the taskbar by changing registry keys?

Set the registry value MinToTray to 0.  After this change Outlook will not be hidden in the taskbar.

If you want to minimize Outlook to system tray, i.e hide Outlook in taskbar, set this registry value to 1.

When I delete a message in Outlook, it  highlights the previous message, not the next one. How do I make it move to the next item by configuring registry key?

Set the value AfterMove to 0. It will move to the next message.

Set the auto save time for composed messages:

Set the registry value autosavetime to the number of minutes after which you want automatically save composed and unsent messages.

For example, to automatically save composed messages after 2 minutes, set this registry key value to 2.

Send email by pressing Ctrl – Enter

Set the value of CtrlEnterSends to 1.

Accept commas to separate email addresses in the To and Cc fields:

set the registry value AllowCommasInRecip to 1.

Don’t delete meeting invitation when accepting the same:

Set DeleteWhenRespond to 0.
